We’re back for Part 3 of this month’s #BackseatPoetry feature with Monet Black. Go ahead and take the time to catch up below on Parts 1 and 2.
Monet Black is getting ready to add the title of “author” to her list with the release of a new book. Below, you’ll find the tentative cover for the book “Brown Sugar: An Ode To Her.” Check out her responses to a couple of my questions after you dig into the cover.
This is your first book. What inspired you to expand your writing to present it as a book?
“This is the first of many books I am hoping to publish. I was inspired by the drive to tell my own story, my own way.”
When should we expect it? Are there any details we need to know about the release?
“The book will be releasing in April. The exact date is TBA. It will be available online via Kindle app and I will also ship it to anyone.”
What exactly will the book be? Is it a novel or full of poems as we hoped?
“This book is a small collection of love poems, all dedicated to the women my heart has the pleasure of experiencing.”
Monet Black, thank you for your time!
